Justin Whitson, LPC
Justin Whitson, MS, LPC, earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wyoming. Before becoming a counselor, he worked in a hospital setting as an EMT-Basic and spent several years as a mental health technician. These experiences provided firsthand insight into the emotional demands, stress, and trauma often experienced by first responders, healthcare professionals, and individuals facing significant life challenges.
Justin works with adolescents and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, life transitions, and relationship or family concerns. He has a particular interest in helping individuals process difficult life experiences that continue to affect their sense of self, relationships, and day-to-day functioning.
His approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment, with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Justin integrates EMDR alongside other therapeutic approaches to help clients move beyond symptom management and address the underlying experiences contributing to distress. He is especially passionate about supporting clients through trauma recovery, grief and loss, and the lasting impact of overwhelming life events.
Justin believes therapy should be collaborative, practical, and tailored to each individual’s needs. He strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can process difficult experiences, build resilience, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
